Hectic

I would say things are in full swing now. In the past week, in addition to class, I've attended a career panel, 2 club kickoffs, 3 company information sessions and one company tour. Today I had my first midterm and I've got another on Tuesday followed by yet another on the 23rd. You can definitely say one thing: even if you take nothing else from an MBA, at least you will come out of it with enhanced time management skills. If you are not on top of your game, you will definitely fall behind. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I won't be having a life this semester.

Oh well. What doesn't kill you...

Midterms in September? Isn't that a bit too early? Wow, good luck on your exams.

I am doing a part-time MBA program, but I agree with you on time-management. Before classes started, I cleaned out my place and axed any trival personal project. Budgeting is another thing that I am very vigilant with because I am footing my tuition.

Hopefully things will get better as we go along, right?

Grace,
We are having midterms now because of the structure of the first semester. We take 7 classes, 4 in the first half of the semester and 3 in the second half. Crazy, right?

So, you are completing an MBA as well? Mind sharing where?

O.K., that's one crazy schedule. Do you have 6 hours of lecture each week for each class? My classes are from September to early December and they have 3 hours each week.

I go to Rutgers in NJ. Love the in-state tuition rate!!

Rutgers is out in Newark, right? I had a co-worker that went there.

Our classes run from the end of August until December and we have 2-2 hour classes every day. Sometimes we have a class 3 times in one week, sometimes twice.

I can't wait for the next semester to start.

Yes, Rutgers-Newark. Students can also complete the program by taking classes at the New Brunswick campus, but the admissions office is at Newark. How did your co-worker like Rutgers?

OK, that's a lot of class each week. I am sure my head would explode if I have a schedule like that! That's why I need to keep working and have personal projects on the side.

He went there for undergrad and he said it was a great school. What's your impression?

I went to Rutgers for undergrad as well. The school is known as a public Ivy. Don't know if they still have this program now, but they gave out full scholarships to hs seniors with great profiles. There are all sorts of majors. My one complaint was that the school was too big and it was very easy to get trapped in the system, especially when you are waiting for a refund check!!

I definitely feel getting more attention now from the grad office. But I don't know if that's the way schools are.
